One Day WithOut Shoes

Now, I know this isn't about photography which is what I am all about but it's just a little something to get you introduced to who I am at heart. Some would call me an Activist (not a hard core activist, just started a few months ago) but I am someone that cares. Recently I have been taking a Psychology and Sociology class, and Wow has it opened my eyes. I have read about how people used to be treated and are still being treated in this world, people thinking they are better than one another (don't we all see this everyday). I've read about the giant plastic mess in the ocean between California and Hawaii! Did you know about that? Look it up if not. I've been really introduced into the gimics this nation uses on how to convince people they are not "pefect" (whatever that is even supposed to mean, perfect is over-rated and not real). Children are not being taught by their parents but by the computer, and don't know how to tie their shoes but can operate a phone! I'm only 20 years old but I feel like I grew up in a different time. I'm an old soul at heart, which is why on April 5th of this year I walked around all day without shoes on. The product of this was....
My feet, after just one day!
This to me was a big eye opener. I remember running around as a little kid, outside barefoot and it never was a big deal. Today, we have people in Third World Countries who don't have shoes, who have to walk MILES just to get fresh water, or food. Who can get sick from not having shoes because of all the crap in the soil today. I don't think we were meant to wear shoes, it's amazing that we have come this far, but I think it's too far. If we lived in a clean, healthy environment with clear blue skies, no pollution and not such a high amount of people on this small planet we could be better off. Now I can't change how and where we are today but I live day to day and take it as it comes and living in a small town, is a blessing, and when I do stand out people ask and I love that because I can then spread the word.

"even though I do not know you, and even though I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you, I love you. With all my heart, I love you."
